History and Heritage: A Civic Matter! With the Atelier d’histoire de la Pointe-aux-Trembles and the Société historique Cavelier de LaSalle
From September to April, the MEM and the Laboratoire d’histoire et de patrimoine de Montréal at UQAM will be holding a one-day gathering every month to explore citizens’ involvement in history and heritage. Historical societies and Montréal heritage organizations will visit the museum to talk about their missions, areas of expertise and actions: the production, presentation and sharing of historical knowledge; participation in cultural and community life; and actions to protect our heritage. Come and chat with their members . . . and perhaps get involved!
For this third gathering, we’re delighted to welcome the Atelier d’histoire de la Pointe-aux-Trembles and the Société historique Cavelier de LaSalle. Come and meet their members to learn more about the history and heritage of these neighbourhoods bordering the St. Lawrence. Starting at 1:30 p.m., there will be a series of mini-lectures about the river, revealing a wealth of historical knowledge.
Representatives from both organizations will be present in the MEM’s public spaces from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The mini-lectures will be held at the following times:
1:30 p.m.: Atelier d’histoire de la Pointe-aux-Trembles
2 p.m.: Société historique Cavelier de LaSalle
2:30 p.m.: Laboratoire d’histoire et de patrimoine de Montréal
3 p.m.: Atelier d’histoire de la Pointe-aux-Trembles
3:30 p.m.: Société historique Cavelier de LaSalle
