Through film installations, archives, and artistic experimentation, the exhibition highlights the tensions between architectural utopia and social realities—resonating with the MAC’s temporary location during its transformation: Place Ville Marie, an icon of Montreal modernism and a symbolic starting point of the underground city.
It’s also where the MAC held its very first exhibition in 1965. Sixty years later, the artworks take on a renewed significance, offering fresh insight into this historic site. A striking dialogue with the “ghosts” of modernism!
