Dream Beautiful. Dream Big.
The former billiard room in Oscar Dufresne’s residence has been beautifully revitalized. The symbolic importance of such a room in a private home highlights the social status of its owner and his place within the French-speaking bourgeoisie. A multimedia display projected onto a 1930s pool table tells the story of the Dufresne brothers—two visionaries who transformed the former city of Maisonneuve. Their ideas were truly in step with their times!
Brought to life in an engaging and playful format, the narration is based on research by renowned historian Paul-André Linteau, with special effects animating archival images. In addition to enhancing Château Dufresne's historic interiors, this partial renewal of the permanent exhibition also allowed for the rehabilitation of the beautiful room's glass canopies. This included the restoration of an original stained-glass window discovered in the museum's basement, a true masterpiece by master glassmaker Guido Nincheri.
