Maison Nivard-De Saint-Dizier, museum and archeological site

Composed of shell beads encoding messages in graphic symbols, these objects were at the heart of diplomatic relations among the First Nations and between them and the colonial authorities. This presentation by Nicolas Renaud, filmmaker, artist, and professor, will include a demonstration of weaving techniques and an overview of the artist's works revisiting this medium in contemporary art.

As part of the Ohné:kanos – Sharing Encounters cultural program, conceived by curator Nicole Jacobs, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Verdun
