The MEM is delighted to welcome you to this first conference by the new research chair in contemporary Quebec history, titled Où en est le Québec d’hier? (How has Quebec evolved over the years?)
As part of this activity, several panelists will explore contemporary Quebec history from a variety of viewpoints and using different methods. They’ll talk about the definition of contemporary Quebec as an historical object, and will describe concepts and disciplines that help enhance our knowledge and understanding. Several topics will be covered during these two days of discussion and reflection:
- Defining and redefining contemporary Quebec history
- Indigenous Peoples and contemporary Quebec history
- Parallel and intersecting perspectives on Quebec’s history
- The history of Quebec in the age of cultural history
- Constraints, challenges and opportunities in the production of Quebec’s history
- Interdisciplinary perspectives on contemporary Quebec history
