The MUMAQ, musée des métiers d’art du Québec’s mission is to promote the inventiveness of the creators of handmade objects in Quebec. Its artistic objective is to increase awareness of traditional as well as contemporary arts, fine crafts and craftsmanship. The Museum also gives a special place to the expression of the arts and traditions of the numerous cultural communities that make up its local population, and reflect Canada’s diversity today. The Museum’s focus on learning and drive towards information accessibility makes it an important educational institution that specifically reaches schools and students.

Meaningful Objects : A History of Craft in Quebec
The permanent exhibition presents a history of the crafts of Quebec, fron New France to today. It is divided according to the major socio-historic periods of Quebec and traces the knowhow of around a hundred artisans and craftwomen with rich and unique background.
