L'Artothèque

Based on the principle of a library, L'Artothèque offers a multitude of cultural services to the community. It has a collection of works of art available for loan, as well as an exhibition room to showcase the work of current artists. It offers cultural mediation projects and creative workshops for a variety of audiences: families, schools, community centers...

Its collection comprises over 2,000 original works of art by national and international artists, mainly graphic art and paintings. It includes works by artists who have marked the history of Quebec and Canadian art, such as Rita Letendre, Serge Lemoyne, Marcel Barbeau, Denis Juneau and others. It also boasts an extensive collection of current artists, reflecting the vitality of art in Montreal and Quebec.

It has an online digital catalog, making the works in its collection accessible to as many people as possible, to facilitate the borrowing and appreciation of visual arts in everyday life, at home, in the office, in workplace and in the community.

With 30 years of experience, L'Artothèque is a well-known figure in the French-speaking art library network, supporting local artists.
