The 2027 Art Rental Collection

The Stewart Hall Art Gallery invites the public to discover the 2027 Art Rental Collection: a renewed selection of original works chosen by a jury and available to purchase or rent. Since 1967, the Art Rental and Sales Service has promoted visual arts in the community by connecting artists and the public. The service continues to grow in popularity among artists and art lovers each year.

Each fall, the Art Rental and Sales Service renews its collection by inviting local artists to submit work for consideration by a jury composed of three experienced arts professionals. The anonymous selection process provides equal opportunity and visibility for established and emerging artists alike. The Art Rental and Sales Service fosters cultural enrichment, supports artists, and brings inspiring artwork into everyday spaces. The resulting collection features a wide range of figurative and abstract works—including drawings, paintings, photographs, prints, and mixed-media pieces.

Works in the Art Rental Collection are ready to hang, and available for purchase or a limited-term rental—making it easy to bring original art into your home or workplace. Renting from the Art Rental and Sales Service is as simple as borrowing a book from the library. We invite you to explore the exhibition with a collector’s eye and discover an affordable artwork to rent or purchase.

Anyone who reserves an artwork for purchase or rent, between November 14 and December 15, 2026, will automatically be entered in the Art Rental Collection’s annual draw for a chance to win an original work of art.

Beginning in mid-January 2027, the works will be available through the Art Rental and Sales Service, located on the second floor of the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre.
