History and Heritage: A Civic Matter! With the Société d’histoire Saint-Paul-Émard and The Main and Mile End Memories
From September to April, the MEM and the Laboratoire d’histoire et de patrimoine de Montréal at UQAM will be holding a one-day event each month to explore citizens’ involvement in history and heritage. Historical societies and Montréal heritage organizations will be at the museum to talk about their missions, areas of expertise and activities: the production, presentation and sharing of historical knowledge; participation in cultural and community life; and actions to protect our heritage. Come and chat with their members... and perhaps get involved!
To kick off the new year, the Société d’histoire Saint-Paul-Émard and The Main and Mile End Memories invite you to the fifth gathering in this series featuring history and heritage organizations. Come and discover original podcast initiatives in line with this month’s theme: sharing and popularizing historical knowledge.
Between 12 and 5 p.m. you can take a seat in the MEM’s Belvedere area and listen to podcast episodes while taking in the view of downtown.
At 2 p.m. make your way to the Cabaret for a presentation of selected excerpts, followed by a discussion on making podcasts to promote history and heritage.
