GUIDED TOUR FROM THE CELLAR TO THE ATTIC (English)
Due to high number of visitors, please arrive at the museum at least 10 minutes before the tour begins.
A guide in period costume describes the daily life of the people who lived in the old farmhouse that was acquired by Marguerite Bourgeoys in 1668 and that welcomed the King’s Wards.
This visit offers you the opportunity to learn about the rich rural heritage from the 17th to the 20th century and the unique occasion to discover Montreal’s rural past.
The exhibit highlights handcrafted furniture and objects from rural life. With the help of these objects, your guide will tell you the story of the pioneers of Ville-Marie.
The adventure of the King’s Wards will have never seemed so authentic. You will be amazed by the story of the farming sisters. They were sharecroppers who ensured the subsistence of the teaching sisters of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame.
